This standard applies for outdoor sports areas which have grass sod. It does not apply for golf courses and equestrian facilities or lawn tennis courts. See "FLL - Richtlinie für den Bau von Golfplätzen" ("Golf Course Construction Guidelines") and "FLL - Empfehlungen für die Planung, Ausführung und Pflege von Reitplätzen im Freien" for information purposes. Deviations from the specifications of this standard are permitted under certain conditions (for example, courts for floor heating, courts which are completely or partly and/or permanently or temporarily roofed, when using thick turfs). The committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-01-18 AA "Rasenflächen (Sp CEN/TC 217/WG 3)" ("Sports turf areas (Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 217/WG 3)") at DIN.
