DIN 18540:2014-09

This standard applies for the formation of exterior wall joints and their sealing with joint sealants in accordance with DIN EN 15651-1 with a permissible total deformation (PTD) of 25 % and low modulus of elasticity. This standard specifies additional requirements for joint sealants which are not covered by DIN EN 15651-1. This standard applies for exterior wall joints between components made of in-situ concrete and/or precast concrete parts with closed structure as well as unrendered brickwork and/or natural stone. This standard does not apply for joints between components made from cellular concrete, joints that come into contact with soil and not for structural joints.
