Overview

This standard applies to digital cameras on aircraft and satellite platforms, the image acquisition and the resulting image data. In addition to conventional aircraft, helicopters, gyrocopters, zeppelins, free balloons, etcetera, as well as drones (UAVs - unmanned aerial vehicles) are increasingly being used in civil remote sensing. This document applies to image data from digital area scan or digital line scan cameras used for metrological purposes. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 005-03-02 AA "Photogrammetrie und Fernerkundung" ("Photogrammetry and remote sensing") at DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NABau), Technical Section 03 "Geodesy, Geoinformation".
