Overview

The standards have been prepared by Working Committee NMP 921 "pH-Messtechnik" ("pH measurement technique") of NMP. DIN 19260: The standard specifies the terms "pH" and "pH value" as well as other associated terms. The definition of pH and the associated pH value in this standard is restricted to the field of aqueous solutions. The statements regarding the effect of pH in water cannot be transferred to other solvents. DIN 19261: The standard contains terms for the measurement of pH values in aqueous solutions using pH glass electrodes measurement chains. General terms of pH and the pH value are specified in DIN 19260.
