Dosing plants according to this standard are used for the targeted addition of small amounts of additives or reagents to various wastewater treatment or sludge treatment processes. Dosing plants according to this standard also include equipment for the preparation of the aforementioned substances prior to their actual addition to the process. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 119-05-36 AA "Kläranlagen" ("Wastewater treatment plants") at DIN Standards Committee Water Practice (NAW). The standard differs from the previous edition DIN 19569-11:2004-08 as follows: a) the standard has been editorially revised and adapted to the current state of the art; b) protective devices for containers have been added; c) specifications for access routes for the delivery of chemicals have been added; d) protective measures for dosing plants have been added. This standard specifies special principles for the design of these dosing plants in sewage treatment plants, namely for: - structures or parts of structures where the requirements or function of the technical equipment shall be taken into consideration and; - technical equipment, insofar as special sewage treatment and sewage treatment plant-specific requirements shall be taken into account in planning, construction, and operation, and for; - safety requirements. This standard applies in conjunction with the general principles for the design according to DIN EN 12255-1 and in conjunction with DIN EN 12255-13. The general principles for the design also apply to facilities for which no section exists. This standard does not apply to general principles of construction and mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, safety engineering, or sewage treatment technology. This standard does not regulate general principles for units such as pumps and other versatile equipment.
