This standard specifies the procedure for determining the risk of erosion of agricultural soils by water using the long-term model of the general soil erosion equation (ABAG). The ABAG is designed for the area-related derivation of the site-specific erosion hazard from terrain findings or soil maps, taking into account precipitation and relief data as well as the most frequently used crop types at the respective site. The erosion hazard due to water derived according to this standard serves to identify and delimit areas in which preventive erosion control advice is indicated in accordance with the German Federal Soil Protection Act and supports this. This document has been prepared by Subcommittee NA 119-01-02-03 UA "Standortbeurteilung" ("Site assessment") of Working Committee e "Abfall- und Bodenuntersuchung" ("Waste and soil investigation") at DIN Standards Committee Water Practice (NAW).
This document replaces DIN 19708:2005-02 .
