Overview

Shaft plumbs according to this standard are mainly used for sinking, setting up and repairing shafts and shaft-like workings. Depending on the working depth, four plumbs sizes with weights between 10 kg and 125 kg are used. Corresponding plumb ropes are assigned to the plumbs in accordance with DIN EN 12385-4. The plumb ropes are fastened to the plumbs by means of a lifting eye bolt, a thimble and clamping jaws. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 008-01-01 AA "Schachtbau" ("Shaft sinking") at DIN Standards Committee Mining (FABERG).
