This standard applies to sets of 2 taps consisting of pre-cutters (V) and finish cutters (F), which are intended for the production of metric ISO fine threads according to DIN 13-2 to DIN 13-9. The following changes have been made with respect to DIN 2181:2003-04: a) the normative references have been updated; b) reference has been changed from DIN 2197 to DIN 2197-1; c) Table 4 has been deleted; d) The standard has been editorially revised. This standard has been prepared by the DIN Standards Committee Tools and Clamping Devices (FWS), Working Committee NA 121-01-04 AA "Gewindebohrer und Schneideisen" ("Taps and dies").
