The standard applies to the testing of ropes and rope end fittings for excavators, spreaders and ancillary equipment in opencast lignite mines. They are to be applied by: - winch ropes for hoists, ballast traversing winches and driver's cabs (except crane ropes for crane installations); - guy ropes. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 008-10-01 AA "Bagger, Absetzer und Zusatzgeräte in Braunkohlentagebauen" ("Excavators, spreaders and auxiliary equipment in opencase lignite mines") of FABERG.
