Overview

This standard shall be applied to master slave manipulators with three pivots which are used in high radiation fields, mostly hot cells with shielding made of concrete and lead. This standard specifies the minimum requirements which are placed on master slave manipulators with three pivots and criteria which shall be observed for their use. This standard also gives instructions for acceptance tests on the devices. The dimensions and the designation of the telescopic master slave manipulators with three pivots are specified in DIN 25409-2. Instructions for use see Supplement to DIN 25409.
