Overview

This standard applies to the handling of nuclear fuels within nuclear facilities. In addition to the technical facility design, this standard specifies a framework for measures of administrative character for conservation of criticality safety. This standard does not apply to facilities with reactors. Particular requirements arise for the transport of nuclear fuels outside nuclear facilities and for the protection against third-party impacts which are not addressed in this standard. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 062-07-45 "Kritikalitätssicherheit" ("Criticality safety") of the DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP).
