This standard applies to the design, manufacture, testing and monitoring of hose assemblies with corrugated hoses made of non-metallic materials, at least regenerate-free, hose grade quality PTFE or PTFE derivative with or without sheathing. These hose assemblies are preferably used for conveying chemical substances in gaseous, vaporous or liquid form. Depending on the hose type, hose assemblies according to this standard can be used at a maximum permissible pressure of -0,9 bar to 10 bar and in a maximum permissible temperature range of -20 °C to 150 °C. This standard specifies a selection series of dimensions and materials, permissible operating data and markings as well as requirements and tests. This standard does not apply to isotope-containing (radioactive) substances, alkali metals, halogens and fluorine. Hose assemblies according to this standard are not suitable for axial compression or stretching. Appropriate certificates shall be available for use in regulated areas (for example, by the Food and Drug Administration).
