This standard specifies requirements for the surface roughness of fasteners with metric thread and of product grades A and B in accordance with DIN EN ISO 4759-1. It is recommended that this standard also be applied for fasteners with inch-based threads and non-standardized fasteners. This standard should be referred to in purchase order documents with details on the respective product grade. Committee NA 067-00-01 AA "Referenznormen und Qualitätsmanagement" ("Reference standards and quality management") at DIN Standards Committee Fasteners (FMV) is responsible for this standard.
