DIN 27205-4 applies to non-ventilated axle mounted brake discs for railway vehicles (for example, made of steel) that rotate at wheel set speed. This standard applies mutatis mutandis to designs that differ from the specified versions. With the introduction of DIN EN 17018 and the publication of the revised DIN 27200:2021-03, DIN 27205-4 needs to be adapted. The standard differs from DIN 27205-4:2017-03 as follows: a) parts updated; b) normative references updated; c) editorial revision. This document has been prepared by Subcommittee NA 087-00-15-05 UA "Bremse" ("Brake") of Working Committee NA 087-00-15 AA "Zustand der Eisenbahnfahrzeuge" ("State of railway vehicles") at DIN Standards Committee Railway (FSF), in coordination with other FSF working committees the German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies (DKE). The documents of the complete work "State of railway vehicles" contain technical specifications for safety-relevant and monitoring-requiring systems and components of standard gauge railway vehicles (standard gauge vehicles according to DIN 25003). This document specifies the limit state for the safe operation of standard gauge railway vehicles and their components. It shall be applied if the vehicles are operated on a public railway infrastructure. The minimum requirements for the processes for maintaining the target condition of railway vehicles specified in the standards shall also be applied.
This document replaces DIN 27205-4:2017-03 .
