Overview

This standard applies to swirlpipes which are manufactured by forming tubes made from unalloyed, low-alloyed and stainless steels and special materials. Swirlpipes are used to manufacture tubular heat exchangers which are used for process equipment. With respect to edition DIN 28178:2009-05, a warning on the possibility of pitting or stress corrosion under certain operational conditions has been added. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 012-00-01 AA "Anlagenteile" ("Process equipment") of the Chemical Apparatus Standards Committee (FNCA) at DIN.
