DIN 30340-2:2024-11

This document specifies requirements for field coating for the mechanical protection of steel pipes with a corrosion protection coating. It covers requirements and tests for field coating for the mechanical protection of joints and repairs to factory-applied coatings on polyolefin-coated steel pipes in accordance with DIN 30340-1 and on fittings. The requirements can also be applied mutatis mutandis to steel pipes and fittings with other corrosion protection coatings. The scope also includes large-area repairs to factory coatings. In addition to the mechanical and technological characteristics of the test of fiber cement coatings, the document contains the corresponding characteristics for glass fiber reinforced plastic coatings and field coating made of thermoplastic and thermosetting plastics such as polyurethane. This document is therefore applicable to all common types of field coating for the mechanical protection of steel pipes with corrosion protection.
