Overview

This standard establishes a compilation of data reflecting the current state of vehicles and measurement technology (as of 2021) with respect to dynamic mechanical transport loads that may occur on the loading areas of transport vehicles (land vehicles) during operation. No singular events such as shocks (for example, railroad crossings, potholes) and no driving maneuvers such as braking and cornering (see DIN EN 12642) have been included. Only the measurement results in the vertical direction have been evaluated and the method of evaluation described. This document is therefore not suitable for providing a complete picture of a package's suitability for transport. This document can be used to derive test conditions for measurement runs and for transport simulation in laboratory tests. Limitations apply here as well because the actual amplitude distribution cannot be transferred to the test setup in the same manner. Laboratory control systems typically operate with a crest factor of 3 to 5; measurements on the loading areas of transport vehicles (land vehicles) sometimes show significantly higher values for the crest factor. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 115-01-04 AA "Anforderungen und Prüfung" ("Requirements and test methods") at DIN Standards Committee Packaging (NAVp).
