The document describes procedures for the thermal machining of tools with a laser beam (laser beam removing) and provides information for use and execution. Laser beam removing is used with the aim to create three-dimensional structures in tools, to remove thin surface layers and to create certain surface characteristics (for example, geometrical, optical, chemical). The committee responsible for this standard is NA 092-00-21 AA "Laserstrahlschweißen und verwandte Verfahren (DVS AG V 9.2)" ("Laser beam welding and allied processes (DVS AG V 9.2)") at DIN.
