DIN 33897-1:2016-08

The basic principles for routine methods for reproducible determination of the dustiness of bulk materials for the purpose of occupational health and safety are specified. These may be applied in daily laboratory practice as an alternative to the test methods specified in DIN EN 15051-2 and DIN EN 15051-3. The document establishes the framework for the content of individual methods specified in further parts of this series of standards and which each represent concrete examples for implementation of the specifications of this part of the DIN 33897 series of standards. This document does not apply to measurements of the dustiness of bulk materials for which compliance with the requirements of DIN EN 15051 shall be demonstrated. In the course of the editorial revision of the previous edition, the existing content-related difference from the standard DIN EN 15051 has been reworded in terms of language and references to it were rearranged in accordance with the new standard structure of DIN EN 15051 (available as a three-part series of standards since 2014). In addition, reference has been made to the terminology standard DIN EN 1540 with regard to the terms used in the standard. Normative and informative references have been updated where necessary.
