Overview

This standard specifies requirements and test methods for lighting equipment and dynamos for use on bicycles. A bicycle is a vehicle with at least two wheels which is exclusively or primarily propelled by muscle power of the person on the bicycle, in particular by means of pedals. Lighting equipment according to this standard are headlamps, rear lights and retro-reflecting devices. This standard applies to a) dynamo- and battery-operated headlamps; b) dynamo- and battery-operated rear lights; c) retro-reflecting devices. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 112-06-02 AA "Fahrrad-Zubehör" ("Accessories for bicycles") of the Sports Equipment Standards Committee (NASport) at DIN.
