This standard specifies the properties for M3 to M24 hexalobular socket set screws of steel and stainless steel. It comprises set screws with flat point, truncated cone point, dog point and cup point. Set screws are not suitable for applications where they are subject to tensile stresses. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 067-00-02 AA "Verbindungselemente mit metrischem Außengewinde" ("Fasteners with metric external threads") at DIN Standards Committee Fasteners (FMV).
