Overview
This standard specifies a method for determination of 25 selected volatile compounds, such as halogenated hydrocarbons (HH), including trihalogenemethane (THM) and fuel contents (BTEX, MTBE and ETBE). The method enables the determination of these substances in drinking, ground and surface water using gas chromatography and mass spectrometric detection (GS-MS) after headspace solid-phase micro extraction (HS-SPME). Depending on the matrix, a working range above 0,01 µl can be assumed. The determinations are performed with small sample volumes (such as 10 ml). This document has been prepared by Working Group NA 119-01-03-02-05 AK "Pflanzenbehandlungsmittel und leichtflüchtige Verbindungen, SPME-GC-Verfahren" ("Plant treatment agents and volatile compounds, HS-SPME methods") of NA 119-01-03 AA "Wasseruntersuchung" ("Water analysis") of the Water Practice Standards Committee (NAW) which have been funded by the Länderfinanzierungsprogramm "Wasser, Boden und Abfall" (federal funding programme "Water, soil and waste").
