Overview

This document specifies the characteristics of a model for calculating roughness values, which largely correspond to the characteristics of perceived roughness. In addition, the dependency of the roughness of synthetic sounds on relevant signal properties is presented. The roughness values calculated with the model for these synthetic sounds show the applicability of the model for the different dependencies. In addition, the roughness of technical noises is discussed and application notes are given. Committee NA 001-01-02-08 UA "Psychoakustische Messtechnik" ("Measurement techniques for psychoacoustics") at DIN is responsible for this standard.
