This standard specifies properties for standardized and non-standardized collets, clamping sleeves, ferrules, expanding sleeves and chuck heads. These properties form the basis for communication, for instance, between users and suppliers. A further aim is the categorization of these properties in conformity classes, amongst others, for unification of the data exchange. This standard has been prepared by the Product Property Standards Committee, NA 128-00-03-03 AK "Merkmallisten und 3D-Modelle für Werkzeuge, Werkzeughalter, Spannmittel und Werkzeugmaschinen" ("List of properties and 3D models for tools, tool holders, tensioning devices and machine tools") of the NSM.
