Overview
This standard applies for low-maintenance stationary valve regulated lead batteries with positive tubular plates in plastic containers which are used as current source, for example for safety lighting, for telecommunications, control- and drive technology as well as battery-powered plants for DC and AC power supply. For the erection and operation of stationary battery installations safety regulation DIN EN 50272-2 (VDE 0510-2), "Safety requirements for secondary batteries and battery installations - Part 2: Stationary batteries" shall be additionally observed. The responsible committee is DKE/K 371 "Akkumulatoren" ("Secondary cells and batteries") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
