Overview

This document has been prepared by Joint Committee NA 005-51-11 GA "Gemeinschaftsausschuss NABau/NALS: Schwingungsfragen im Bauwesen; Einwirkungen auf Menschen in Gebäuden (DIN 4150-2)" ("Joint working committee NABau/NALS: Vibrations in construction; Actions on building occupants (DIN 4150-2)") at DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NABau). This document establishes general principles for the appropriate consideration of vibration protection in immission control and is not applicable to vibrations caused by self-generated or in-house sources. This document specifies a procedure for evaluating vibration immissions from various excitation sources that affect people in buildings; the procedure is adapted to each specific source. The vibrations to be assessed cover a frequency range from 1 Hz to 80 Hz and can be determined using measurements or calculations (predictions).
