Overview
The 1973 version of DIN 4547 has been revised and the contents have been expanded. This resulted in Part 1: Shapes, dimensions, designation, materials and Part 2: Functional and safety requirements and testing. Part 2 describes the safety and hygiene requirements. Furthermore, various test sequences have been specified in clause 6 "Tests" where, for example, the transportation and operational loads are simulated. This is in the context that safety in use can be ensured. For this reason, safety against tilting and form stability is tested in specified tests. The behaviour during breaking in is classified in a test. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 020-00-20 AA "Schränke aus Stahl" ("Steel cupboards") at DIN.
