DIN 50035:2012-09

DIN 50035 has been prepared by the Plastics Standards Committee (FNK), Working Committee 054-01-04 AA "Verhalten gegen Umgebungseinflüsse" ("Environmental resistance"). It contains general explanations on the conception of the term ageing, some examples for terms needed for discussion of the causes, processes and phenomena of ageing as well as ageing protection in the field of polymeric materials. In various cases definitions could be referred to which are already internationally specified in ISO/TC 61 "Plastics". Furthermore, definitions in already existing standards were taken into account where possible. In terms of this standard the definitions for cyclization and agglomeration apply in limited form; in other fields these terms are interpreted differently. This standard applies for polymeric materials in the field of ageing.
