This document specifies the test method for evaluating the strength and deformation behavior under pressure of cellular metals, such as metal sponges, metal foams, and hollow sphere structures. It is applicable to cellular metals with a porosity greater than 50%. The properties determined in accordance with this document are the stress/deformation behavior and the characteristic values that can be determined from this. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 062-01-42 AA "Zug- und Duktilitätsprüfung für Metalle" ("Tensile and ductility testing of metals") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP).
