This standard applies to the appropriate design and use of devices for holding specimens to be tested on a hardness tester for hardness testing in accordance with, for example, DIN EN ISO 4516, DIN EN ISO 4545-1, DIN EN ISO 6506-1, DIN EN ISO 6507-1, DIN EN ISO 6508-1, DIN EN ISO 16859-1, DIN EN ISO 14577-1, DIN EN ISO 14577-4, DIN 50157-1, DIN 50158-1 or DIN 50159-1. The specimens in hardness testing are generally workpieces. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 062-01-41 AA "Härteprüfung für Metalle" ("Hardness testing for metals") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP).
