This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 062-06-61 AA "Prüfung von Schmierölen, sonstigen Ölen und Paraffinen" ("Testing of lubricating oils, other oils and Paraffin") of the Standardization Committee for Petroleum, Fuels, Lubricants and Related Products (FAM) at the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP) at DIN. This document specifies a method for the determination of characteristics (crater diameter) for consistent lubricants containing additives intended to reduce wear in the mixed-friction range between surfaces in relative movement to each other.
