This document specifies methods for determination of the bulk density and the open porosity according to the buoyancy method and for determination of the bulk density according to the dimensioning and weighing method of carbonaceous and graphite materials (solids). If the shape has a simple geometry the volume can also be determined by measurement. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 062-02-81 AA "Prüfverfahren für Kohlenstoff und Graphit" ("Testing of carbonaceous materials") at DIN.
