Overview
This document specifies the performance, design, and testing requirements for apparatus used in gamma-radiography with portable, mobile, and fixed working containers of various categories. This document applies to equipment for the controlled use of emitted gamma radiation using a sealed radioactive source for industrial radiography in order to ensure that persons are protected when this apparatus is used in accordance with applicable radiation protection rules. This document represents a partial adoption of ISO 3999:2004 Radiation protection - Apparatus for industrial gamma radiography - Specifications for performance, design, and tests. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 062-07-56 AA "Materialien, mechanische Komponenten und Zerstörungsfreie Prüfung in der Kerntechnik" ("Materials, mechanical components and non-destructive testing in nuclear technology") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP).
