Overview

This standard specifies dimensions and designations for felt rings and felt strips which are used for sealing radial bearing housings. In addition the dimensions for the corresponding ring groove required to insert this felt seal into the relevant bearing housing are given in this document. With respect to DIN 5419:1959-09, the standard has been editorially revised and more information about the design has been added. Furthermore, the normative references have been updated. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 118-01-02 AA "Kugellager und Spannlager einschließlich Teile, allgemeines Wälzlagerzubehör und Gehäuse" ("Ball bearings and inside bearings, including parts, general rolling bearings accessories and housings").
