Overview

This standard defines a procedure for inspection of technical cleanliness for rolling bearings. It describes in particular measuring methods, measuring techniques and requirements for calibration. Attention should be paid to the fact that usually, the preserved rolling bearings or rolling bearing parts are measured and that for rolling bearings which are intended for grease lubrication the testing for cleanliness takes place prior to grease filling. The inspection of technical cleanliness for linear motion rolling bearings and their components are not covered in this standard.
