This standard specifies requirements and tests for plastic cable covers with warning and protective properties. It applies to plates, profiles and strips that are laid above a pipeline or a cable in the ground. The aim of this standard is to specify requirements, the compliance of which ensures that cable covers fulfil their tasks and that their service life is as long as that of the system to be protected. It is directed at manufacturers of plastic cable covers. The standard includes in particular quality aspects. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 054-05-10 AA "Warneinrichtungen aus Kunststoff für erdverlegte Kabel und Rohrleitungen" ("Plastics warning devices for underground cables and pipelines") at DIN Standards Committee Plastics (FNK).
