Overview
This document applies to 4-way flat pallets made from polyethylene in accordance with DIN 55423-5 which are used for transportation chains for meat and meat products - more specifically, in the area of food hygiene. It specifies requirements and tests regarding the physical properties and depicts the foundation for quality control. With respect to the previous document DIN 55423-6:1997-12, the following changes have been made: a) the normative references have been updated; b) the normative reference in the clause "moulding material" has been changed; c) "corner drop test" has been renamed into "edge test"; d) the normative reference in clause "edge test" has been changed; f) editorial revisions. The revision has been carried out by Working Committee NA 115-03-07 AA "Paletten" ("Pallets") of the Packaging Standards Committee (NAVp).
