Overview

This standard applies to adsorptive desiccants in bags which are sufficiently permeable to water vapour, for use in packaging with a low water vapour permeability. The purpose of these specifications is to provide uniform criteria for the evaluation of the efficiency of desiccant bags. Desiccant bags are intended to protect packaged goods from excessive atmospheric humidity during transport and storage, in order to prevent corrosion, attack by mould, etcetera. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 115-03-04 AA "Trockenmittel" ("Dessicants") at DIN Standards Committee Packaging (NAVp).
