DIN 55530:2011-05

This document is applicable for films and recyclates made of low density polyethylene (PE-LD) for use as barrier materials in packaging, in particular against water vapour. This document is not applicable for packaging of foodstuffs. The following amendments have been made with respect to the previous document DIN 55530:1987-01: a) the designation of the standard has been changed; b) the title and scope have been expanded to include recyclate made of low density polyethylene (PE-LD); c) the normative references have been updated; d) Table 2 has been supplemented with abbreviated terms and marking of materials; e) 4.2 "Packaging" has been revised: f) clause 5 "Marking" has been supplemented; g) editorially revised. The Working Committee responsible for the revision is NA 115-02-01 AA "Flexible, flächige Packmittel - Folien, Säcke, Beutel, Tragetaschen" ("Flexible, flat means of packaging - films, sacks, bags, carrier bags") of the Packaging Standards Committee (NAVp).
