DIN 5566-3:2024-07

This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 087-00-08 AA "Fahrzeugkopf/Führerraum" ("Driver's cab") at DIN Standards Committee Railway (FSF). With the preparation of the EN 16186 series of standards the scope of this standard has been limited to vehicles whose driver's cabs are not subject to a European standard. This document applies to all driver's cabs or driver's seats in rail vehicles subject to BOStrab. Rail vehicles subject to BOStrab include, in particular, tramway and light rail vehicles as well as subway vehicles. It contains requirements for driver's cabs or driver's seats in these rail vehicles that go beyond the requirements of DIN 5566-1. This document does not apply to: - vehicles subject to EBO, ESBO, BOA, and EBOA, - vehicles falling within the scope of the DIN EN 16186 series of standards, - vehicles falling within the scope of the DIN EN 14033 series of standards, - auxiliary driver's cabs and auxiliary driver's stands used exclusively for shunting purposes, - steam locomotives, road-rail vehicles and remote-controlled shunting vehicles without a driver's cab. The standard differs from DIN 5566-3:2006-09 as follows: a) the foreword has been updated; b) the scope has been adjusted; c) normative references have been updated; d) information on general tolerances has been added in 4.4 "Dimensions"; e) the bibliography has been updated; f) adjustments have been made to current design rules.
