DIN 5692:2011-04

This standard is a supplement to DIN EN 1677-1:2009-03, as the European Standard only contains framework requirements for forged steel components and no information on special requirements for chain shorteners. This standard follows the European Standard EN 1677-1 regarding the structure and organization. This document specifies requirements for forged chain shorteners (shortening claws and shortening hooks) of grade 8 on the basis of forged steel components according to DIN EN 1677-1 in the range of up to 63 t working load limit, which are preferably used in chain slings according to DIN EN 818-4. Clause 4 and clause 5 of this standard contain safety regulations as defined in the Geräte- und Produktsicherheitsgesetz (Equipment and Product Safety Act) -GPSG-. The responsible national Committee is NA 085-00-03 AA "Anschlagketten und Zubehör" ("Chain slings and accessories") of the Round Steel Link Chains Standards Committee at DIN, the German Institute for Standardization e.
