This standard defines terms for structural facilities used as places of assembly. Places of assembly are structures or parts of structures intended for the simultaneous presence of many people at events, in particular educational, economic, social, cultural, artistic, political, sporting or entertainment events, as well as drinking and eating establishments (see MVStättV). In this standard, places of assembly are distinguished according to their design or use, whereby the core uses can be decisive for their designation. Core use in this context refers above all to the use of the place of assembly as intended in the building permit. Places of assembly are therefore multi-purpose facilities that usually have a core use and also allow a greater or lesser number of additional uses. This range of uses for event venues includes, for example: - trade exhibitions; - sporting events; - cultural, social, political, scientific events, presentations; - music events; - theater events; - television events and film screenings. This document has been prepared at DIN Standards Committee Entertainment Technology, Photography and Cinematography (NVBF) by Working Committee NA 149-00-06 AA "Arbeitsmittel und Einrichtungen" ("Work equipment and installations").
This document replaces DIN 56920-1:1970-07 , DIN 56920-2:1970-07 .
