Overview

This document contains safety requirements in terms of the Produktsicherheitsgesetz (ProdSG) (German Device and Product Safety Act). This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 149-00-06 AA "Einrichtungen und Arbeitsmittel" ("Equipment and working materials") at the Entertainment Technology, Photography and Cinematography Standards Committee (NVBF) at DIN, the German Institute for Standardization e. V. This document applies for the manufacture of safety ropes used to secure portable objects in terms of BGV C 1/GUV-V C 1. The safety rope is a "secondary suspension" in accordance with DIN VDE 0711-217 (VDE 0711-217). The potential drop shall not exceed 0,2 m. The safety rope is used in event and production sets for scenic presentations, for instance, theatres, multi-purpose halls, cinemas, schools, vaudevilles, cabarets, bars and discoteques, in film, radio and television. The safety rope shall not be used as sling for general hoisting operations. Annex A explains the drop. Annex B explains why chains have not been incorporated as safety elements. Annex C gives two examples. Annex D describes the test method.
