Overview

This document has been prepared by DIN Standards Committee Fasteners (FMV), Working Committee NA 067-00-08 AA "Verbindungselemente mit Sonderformen und aus Kunststoff" ("Fasteners with special elements and made of plastic"). This document specifies the properties of lifting eye nuts made of steel and of stainless steel. Lifting eye nuts according to this document can be used as part of slings or as fixed attachment points for machines. As mobile load lifting appliances, eye nuts require CE marking in accordance with the Machinery Directive (EC Directive 2006/42/EC) within the European Union. Annex B provides assistance in implementing the requirements that arise from the current legal situation at the time of this standard edition. The European Machinery Directive is addressed, among others, to the manufacturer or the manufacturer's authorized representative. The manufacturer is responsible for ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Directive. Furthermore, this document provides information on their correct use in hoist operation. Eye nuts according to this document can be used in a temperature range of - 20 °C to + 200 °C without any reduction in load capacity.
