Overview

This standard applies for diamond impregnated centering discs and discs with special profiles used in optical engineering for cylindrical, form and profile grinding of edges on tools in relation to the optical axis. Their application is intended on centering machines which allow for narrow dimensional, form and positional tolerances on the tools. The standard specifies uniform dimensions; this results in a reduction of the variety of centering discs and discs with special profiles in order to allow for their exchangeability on various optics processing machines. The committee responsible for this standardization project is NA 027-01-11 AA "Fertigungsmittel der Optik" ("Production means in optical engineering") at DIN.
