DIN 58905-1 has been prepared by Working Committee NA 063-03-05 AA "Hämostaseologie" ("Haemostaseology") at DIN Standards Committee Medicine (NAMed) in collaboration with the registered association Society of Thrombosis and Haemostatis Research. This document recommends the handling, documentation and processing of whole blood and plasma specimens intended for haemostasis examination during the preanalytical phase before an assay is performed. This Standard is applicable to all in vitro diagnostic examinations including laboratory developed tests performed by medical laboratories.
