The standard has been prepared by NA 063-04-03 AA "Desinfektionsapparate" ("Disinfection apparatus") of NAMed at DIN. During the revision of the standard, parts 6 and 7 of the DIN 58949 standard series have been merged. The standard specifies requirements for the operation of steam disinfection apparatus, their requirements for installation (such as their power supply, terminals and connections) and operating equipment (for example steam and water quality) as well as the corresponding tests to be executed.
