DIN 6338 has been prepared by Working Committee NA 121-02-03 AA "Spannzeuge für Fräs- und Bohrmaschinen und automatischen Werkzeugwechsel" ("Clamping devices for milling and drilling machines and automatic tool exchange") of FWS. Assembling grooves according to this standard are used for shaft ends and are intended for insertion into drilled holes or bushings and clamping sleeves. The front diameter of the shaft has been specified with dimension "d-x"; it is smaller than the actual fitting diameter of the shaft, so that easier insertion is ensured.
