This standard specifies functional dimensions and requirements for performance characteristics for tables of all shapes (for example, round, square, oval, rectangular) in the living area (for example, dining tables, writing tables, pull-out tables, folding tables, backdrop tables or coffee tables). It does not apply to tables for contract and office furnishing, such as desks, laboratory tables, school desks, as well as small pieces of furniture and tables firmly connected to the floor and tops that can be pulled out or folded out of cabinets. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 042-05-15 AA "Sitzmöbel, Polstermöbel und Tische" ("Seating, upholstered furniture and tables") at DIN Standards Committee Timber and Furniture (NHM).
