This German standard specifies requirements for axes. This standard specifies, in addition to the dimensions for axe and handle for various nominal masses of axes and the standard designation, the requirements for the materials of axe head and handle as well as the marking of these striking tools. Requirements for plastic handles have been incorporated for the first time. This German standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 121-05-12 AA "Schlagwerkzeuge" ("Impact tools") at the FWS.
